Marvin Rizzo was born in Giessen. In October 2017, he began studying "Multimedia and Communication" with a focus on film and journalism in Ansbach. In this context, he has realized various student short films, primarily as a DoP. In addition to his studies, he worked as a projectionist in a small cinema and as an assistant in a student camera rental. In March 2021, he started an internship at a film production company in Hamburg and subsequently worked there as a student trainee. The desire for more in-depth training in Cinematography evolved, which Rizzo fulfilled in 2022 in the Master's degree course in Cinematography at the Hamburg Media School and successfully completed in 2024 with his graduation film "Wie es war". His second term film was shown in numerous festivals, including Biberacher Filmfestspiele, Europäisches Filmfestival Göttingen and won the short film price at Internationales Filmfest Emden-Norderney.
His desire to tell stories and to touch human beings with his visuals are the basement which he brings to every project. He is especially interested in the little things of life, the relationships between people, the emotions, the every day struggles and the big life changes and questions. In his philosophy every project is unique and needs to be seen and discovered in this way. Because of this he refuses to have a style, even he is aware of having his own "taste".
Rizzo is based in Hamburg and works worldwide.
